roles:             Titus

Christopher Titus (born March 10, 1966 in Worcester, Massachusetts) is an American comedian and actor. He grew up in Newark, California. Titus came to national attention with the eponymous FOX show Titus. He is also a successful stand-up comedian whose act revolves around his dysfunctional family and shocking life experiences. Titus has been performing stand up comedy since he was 18.

Christopher Titus jokes about things most comics would find impossible to make funny. Custody battles, insanity, family suicides, heart attacks, and fist fighting his father are all topics to be confronted, not hidden. “I think our collective psychosis is hilarious. With the world moving as fast as it is, if we weren’t dysfunctional, we couldn’t function,” says Titus. Christopher is the most rare of comics in that his material is edgy and pushes the envelope, but still accessible and meaningful to the common audience.

After years of experimentation with dark and personal storytelling, he debuted his one-man show “Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding” at the Hudson Theater in Los Angeles. The packed house gave him a standing ovation.Already a standout at the 1996, 1997 and 1999 Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, in 2000 Christopher brought Norman Rockwell to the Festival for a sold-out run at the prestigious Centaur Theatre.

His new special, “The 5th Annual End of the World Tour”, premiered on Comedy Central on Sunday, March 18th, 2007 at 10:00pm EDT and is now available on a 2-Disc set released by Comedy Central Records.

Quotes:

“Our president is a big Texas oil man and we’re paying $3 a gallon? We’re fucking retarded.”

“Mad Cow Disease? I gotta be afraid of fucking cows now? And Canadian cows, I feel like such a puss.”

“And you know, like him or hate him, Bush has had the toughest presidency since Lincoln. This man has to open the newspaper every day and scream FUCK!”

“Picking a fight with my dad is like, Hi! You’ve instigated your own mugging! Come on down!”

Christopher’s stand-up television appearances include “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend”. He has also hosted Fox’s Good Day Live, VH1’s Dashboard Dreams and Comedy Central’s USO Comedy Tour.

A trained and serious actor, his television guest appearances include UPN’s “Twilight Zone”, CBS’s “Yes, Dear”, Fox’s 21 “Jump Street”, “Damon” and “Beyond Belief”, NBC’s “Jenny”, and ABC’s “Lois & Clark”. His film credits include co-starring roles in the nuclear submarine thriller “Crash Dive” and the cult classic “Killer Klowns From Outer Space”.

He has been a frequent panelist on The Tonight Show, Politically Incorrect and The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. Christopher was the star, executive producer and co-creator of the Fox hit sitcom “Titus”, a dark comedy based on”Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding”, which ran from 2000-2002. Time called “Titus” “brutal, hilarious and audacious,” while Newsday called him “T.V’s most original comic voice since Seinfeld.”

In 2004, “Norman Rockwell is Bleeding” became his first televised special, premiering on Showtime.

After “Titus” finished its run, Christopher starred in a futuristic one-hour pilot for NBC called “Future Tense”, and has had writing/producing deals with NBC, Sony, and Showtime. He recently shot “Special Unit”, a pilot he created for Comedy Central as a new star vehicle for himself, however it failed to make much headway. Titus described the show as The Shield, with midgets.

In fall of 2007, Titus will star alongside Michael Vartan, Dylan McDermott, and Joshua Malina in ABC’s Big Shots.

Titus is also the founder of The Insight Project, a non-profit organization that raises money for children who have suffered abusive backgrounds.

Michael Vartan

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Michael Vartan was born on 27th November 1968 in France, the only child of a Bulgarian father and a Polish mother who got divorced when he was only five. He spent his childhood shuttling between France (where his father, a musician lived) and the U.S (where his mother lived). At the age of eighteen, after deciding against joining the French military service (mandatory for all males above 18 in France) Michael shifted to the States. He hadn`t really thought about becoming an actor. He enrolled in an acting school after being told by many people that he had the potential for it. He made his acting debut in the French film Un homme et deux femmes (1991) and followed that with another French film called Promenades d`été (1992). It was with the Italian film Fiorile (1993), in which he played (rather ironically), a French soldier that he made his international debut. He considers The Pallbearer (1996), in which he starred with David Schwimmer and Gwyneth Paltrow to be his first big American movie.

He gave an impressive performance in The Myth of Fingerprints (1997) as Jake, who, during a Thanksgiving family reunion tries to gain some perspective into the nature of love and family relationships. Michael`s true mettle as an actor was seen when he played a character that he has described as being most unlike him. The role was that of the English Lit teacher-cum-Prince Charming Sam Coulson in the 1999 hit Never Been Kissed (1999) and it catapulted Michael to never experienced popularity and adulation. He followed his much talked about NBK performance with similar good ones in The Next Best Thing (2000) and _It Had to Be You (2000/I)_ . Meanwhile, he joined stellar company by being one among the biggest names in Hollywood to feature on shows like “Ally McBeal” (1997) and “Friends” (1994).

He also played the role of the legendary Lancelot in the serialized version of Marion Zimmer Bradley`s novel _”Mists of Avalon, The” (2001) (mini)_ . In 2001, he became a regular feature on TV playing CIA agent Michael Vaughn in the series “Alias” (2001). Still playing the character, he has described it as being more close to home than his previous roles. Hockey is a passion with Michael. He also enjoys other sports, as much for the joy of playing them as for the therapeutic value he derives from them! He continues rendering impressive performances in films, his latest being One Hour Photo (2002).
